Founder / Principal Software Architect

AgapeWORKS, 6/2008 – Present

I created a highly scalable global Multi-Tenant Church Management System, Content Management System, and e-commerce Platform. This Web Application is Azure-based and uses the Microservice Architectural pattern. It is free for churches because I use it as my learning system. Versions 1 and 2 were hosted on local servers. In 2011, Everything was moved to Azure App Services and Azure SQL. To date, the application hosts 6,000+ churches worldwide.

Tasked with updating the existing company platform from an internal legacy system to Azure-based replacements in a Full and Hybrid environment. Worked closely with Executive Management to set a technology roadmap with a “Cloud First” approach. Worked with Product Owners to understand product/project requirements to better design and build these in compliance with the technology roadmap. Set policies, standards, and protocols for SDLC, coding, quality, and architectural frameworks.
Architected and Developed the following projects:

  • B2C Insurance Quote: Azure-based Microservice Web and Mobile Application. This allowed the company to sell insurance directly to the customer online and on mobile devices. (Azure, Microservice, Visual Studio, REST, WebAPI, WCF, C#, SOAP, XML, JSON, Bootstrap, jQuery, SignalR, MS SQL).
  • Kanban Board: Azure-based Web Application modeled on Trello but card-centric. This gave the departments their own boards with consistency and workflow management. (Azure, Visual Studio, ASP.NET MVC, C#, Bootstrap, jQuery, SignalR, MS SQL).
  • Employee Review System: Azure-based Web Application to Create and Manage Employee Reviews. This application used Azure Cosmos DB (NOSQL) for scaleability and Blockchain technology for fault tolerance and tamper protection. (Visual Studio, REST, WebAPI, C#, SOAP, XML, Bootstrap, jQuery, Cosmos DB, Blockchain).
  • Network Operation Center: Web Application to monitor all the internal and external systems. Developed a communication protocol between the systems so that errors would be acted on in real-time. (Visual Studio, ASP.NET MVC, REST, WebAPI, WCF, C#, SOAP, JSON, Bootstrap, jQuery, SignalR , MS SQL).
